PUP 'THIS PLACE SUCKS ASS' LP

PUP's 2019 album Morbid Stuff is one of the best melodic punk records in recent memory, so it should come as no surprise that this year's This Place Sucks Ass EP rips too. It's an odds-and-ends collection with Morbid Stuff outtakes, a new song, and a Grandaddy cover, and it's a reminder that everything PUP touches right now turns to artistic gold. PUP know just how to balance aggression with pop smarts, off-kilter song structures with traditional ones, and it results in insanely catchy songs that sound like no other band in the world. - Andrew Sacher
