No laughing matter, Knocked Loose’s unendingly heavy 2016 debut album marks the beginning of one of modern metalcore’s most awe-inspiring discographies. Produced by Will Putney (Better Lovers, Fit for an Autopsy), the 11-song outing finds the Kentucky quintet delivering riffs that tread the line between beatdown hardcore and gristly old school death-metal. Most infamously, “Counting Worms” has vocalist Bryan Garris delivering the arf-loaded mosh call that launched a million memes. Stunning as it is savage, the debut album from these top dogs has been repressed on “bone with rainbow splatter” vinyl.
