Filipino-American thrashers Death Angel were all under 20 years old when they recorded their debut, 1987’s The Ultra-Violence — in fact, drummer Andy Galeon was just 14! A year later, when the quintet dropped their follow-up, Frolic Through the Park, it was remarkable for players of any age. The instrumentation is loose and overdriven, the songs funky and adventurous, and vocalist Mark Osegueda sounds downright soulful at times. Our edition is 2LP in red vinyl. Revolver Staff
