High Street is about nostalgia. The more we learn the “rules” of life, the less free we become. We’re never so free as when we’re young and dumb and willing to jump into the deep end.
Pity Party is about how we’ve mechanized and normalized cruelty. It definitely comes from a vegan point of view, but ultimately it’s a human point of view that questions everything from meat-eating to capitalism and consumerism. Somehow I’m made out to be weird or extreme for giving a shit about things like cruelty and murder.
Cave Dwellers is about the notion that we’re all basically the same when you remove these labels we put on ourselves. All these labels put us into camps where we are pitted against one another. It’s all poison and fodder. Can we just leave each other alone? Better to live in a dark cave than see this kind of light.
